I've heard from a few different people that this website is difficult to navigate. I agree. One of the challenges inherent to this project is its blog format, which allows me to publish advice as I write it, but which makes organizing posts into suggested reading order a bit of a chore. Further, most people find this blog through Google, which drops them on any one of PWN the SAT's hundreds of pages, depending on what they've searched for. I don't want to do a splash landing page because those are obnoxious and I want you to be able to read what you came to read without having to jump through hoops.

So I figured I'd make an effort to put together something of a site tour for new visitors and old friends alike. Come! We have much to cover and precious little time before you get distracted and go back to playing FarmVille.

Vitals
First of all, a bit about who I am, what this site is, and why it exists. My name's Mike. I'm a tutor in New York, and I've scored a 2400 on the test myself (bam). I built this site to provide free, high quality SAT prep advice because I think it should be available to everyone, regardless of geography or ability to pay. There's more information about me and this site here.

How to use this site
To make the best use of this site, you need to know about a few key features. First, there's an outline page for each subject (math, writing, reading). These pages contain links to all the advice I've posted about their respective subjects in an order I think it makes sense to read them. You can always access those pages in the menu bar at the top of the page. As I post more advice that should be added to those pages, I update them.

Second, I run a free Q&A service on Tumblr. You can find that at QA.PWNtheSAT.com, or by clicking Q&A at the top of the page in the menu bar. On that page you can submit questions to me, and I will answer them just as quickly as I can for you. Please, if you're going to submit multiple questions, don't lump them all into one submission. Submit each separately. If you lump them all together, I will take a long time to answer.

Third, along those lines, I've compiled a link directory of Blue Book math solutions that I've either posted myself to the Q&A site, or that my friends have posted. If you're working through the Blue Book and have a question about a tough problem, check to see if it's been explained! If it hasn't, ASK ME!

Fourth, I wrote a book about the math section. It's really good! Much of the information in that book can also be found on this site, but if you want it organized more neatly than it is here and packaged with handwritten solutions to my practice questions and a painstaking breakdown of every test in the College Board's Blue Book, then I'd encourage you to check it out. If you can't afford to buy a copy, I give them away in contests on this site fairly often.

How will you know when contests are running or when I've posted new content? You can like me on Facebook, and follow me on Tumblr, Twitter, and Google+. You can also subscribe to receive site updates by email or RSS. I really appreciate you sharing this site with your friends either through social networks, or old-fashioned email. A small fraction of the people who come through here buy my book, which allows me to keep doing this for free for everyone. So help me help you by helping your friends find me!

I think that's everything I wanted to cover. I hope you find this site useful, and I hope you'll let me know if you have feedback, either by commenting on any of the posts on the site, or by emailing me at mike -at- pwnthesat.com.
